– We have 3 main goals in organizing this Awards. First, we want to encourage more global investor attention on the CEE region – stretching from the Baltics to the Black Sea – with its more-dynamic economies than western Europe – to attract more global investors to the region’s great companies. Secondly, we want to highlight top entrepreneurs and managers creating and building great companies. The third goal is to shine a light on top institutional investors. Especially those doing the extra work to discover rising stars in the region. Some of tonite’s Winners are companies that are disrupting traditional businesses with new business models, like Oponeo.pl. Others are tapping into the IT and creative potential here in the CEE region to create global products – likes games makers Vivid Games and 11BitStudios. Others are more mature, well-managed and strong cashflow companies like Asecco and Cyfrowy Polsat. Yet others are great turnaround (Cemacon in Romania) or expansion stories (Uniwheels)– and are tapping the CEE Capital Markets to fund their ambitions – said Thom Barnhardt, organizer of this 2nd annual CEE Capital Markets Awards.
